Biography
Karel Prášek was born in Ohrobec, his father was a journalist. 1958-61 stay in Vietnam, tours of China and Cambodia. 1965 first visit to France and at that time he became acquainted with the French painter modernist Jean Rustin / 1928 - 2013 /. In the years 1966-70 painter Karel Prášek studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux-Arts in Paris and already in 1967 he participated in the Salon of French artists .I n 1968, in the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux-Arts, Gustav Singer (1909-1984), a non-figurative painter, one of the founders of Salon de Mai. At the time of his studies, painter Karel Powek attends the Beaux-Arts School in St. Ouen in the suburb of Paris, a field of graphics, participates in collective exhibitions. At that time he became acquainted with leading modernist Jean Helion / 1904-1987 /.
After returning to Bohemia in 1973, the painter builds a studio in South Bohemia, at that time in 1974 he meets with J. S. Pradeau. In 1977 the first independent exhibition was held in Prague.
In 1982 - independent exhibition in Niort France, J. Helion is the author of the text in the catalog. In 1985 - Creative contact with the Espace 31 galleries and Michel Broomhead.
Since 1990 he has been exhibiting both at home and abroad (Warsaw, Munich, Paris, Vienna, Marseille, etc.).
